Read below to understand where your self judgement comes from & how to heal your relationship with your inner critic.

You know the inner voice that puts you down and criticises everything you do? The shoulds & shouldn't, the constant comparison, the self-judgement and blaming...
This voice is your superego.
It was born when you were a very young child and your survival depended on being cared for. At this stage, you couldn’t provide for your own needs and any threat of rejection by your caretakers was interpreted as a life-or-death situation. And so critics and judgements sounded very dangerous to your young consciousness. To avoid being told off, you strategically internalised the critics that you received from your environment in order to preemptively adapt your behaviour.
That is how your superego was born: as a mechanism to deal with dependency. But now you are an adult and the inner critic is still here, keeping you small and constricted for no real purpose.
The moment you become aware of this, you can free yourself.
How?
When you start feeling like crap, when you give up, when you self-censor...
Slow down. Notice. What story did the inner voice just tell you?
Identify it for what it is.
A story that you do NOT have to believe. Most often than not, your thoughts do not reflect your deeper truth.
Question the narrative. Find your truth. There is a deeper consciousness in you, once you become quiet and still, that can arise from within.
Ask your wisdom, ask your heart, ask your essence.
Listen to the soft voice emerging from the silence.
If this is difficult then try taking your inner critic’s story and switch "I" with your best friend's name.
What happens in you? Do you want to protect them and contradict the voice? Now, how do you feel about yourself for receiving this message? Can you hold yourself in the same compassion?
It takes practice but the more you do it, even only partially, the more you build your psycho-energetic muscle to reclaim your creative power from your superego.
How does your inner critic show in your energy system ?
Let to itself, the consciousness of the Superego often tightens the structure of the mental level and prevents the flow of your creative expression. Most likely it will accumulate energy in certain areas of your field while others will get undercharged. This will impact the emotional level of the field, and based on your characterology, may lead to more numbing, collapse, depressing of the field, etc.
That is unless you consciously catch yourself.
There are a number of ways to do that. The tips I just gave you are one possibility to drop your awareness to deeper dimensions of yourself: to the dimension of your hara line or even to your essence. This will help rebalance your field and come back to your true expression more easily.
Let me know how that helps and if you have any difficulty, please feel free to reach out for support.
